Julie Chrisley’s Lawyer Says She Could Be Freed ‘Next Spring or Summer’

Look out, world! Julie Chrisley may be freed way sooner than we all thought.

The former Chrisley Knows Best star is behind bars serving a prison sentence of seven years. She got caught up for her role in a $30 million fraud scheme with her hubby Todd Chrisley. The couple appealed it, and a court recently agreed to reduce Julie’s sentencing.

To be clear, Todd is staying put. This has nothing to do with him. Still, the news has Julie’s lawyer feeling optimistic about the next steps.

Julie’s attorney, Jay Surgent, spoke to Radar Online about the recent hearing, which called for Julie’s sentence to be reduced due to a slight technicality.

Essentially, the courts still recognize that Julie was involved in the fraudulent behavior. However, there wasn’t enough evidence of the exact timeline when she was involved. Julie’s lawyer explained how this news was a major win.

“It’s a big, big deal,” he told the outlet, before predicting that she’d be back home by “next spring or summer.”

Although the details of Julie’s resentencing haven’t been determined, Jay believes they will get one or two years knocked off her sentence. He said that the next step would be sending her to a halfway house, which would be much closer to her family.

Once in the halfway house, Julie would be able to visit with family, work, and have a semi-normal life. She’ll just have to sleep under the fed’s supervision. Either way, it will be a big relief for Savannah Chrisley, who has been filling on as the family’s matriarch throughout this legal disaster.

According to Jay, the family is ready to have Julie back because she’s “the foundation” of the family. Plus, the family will probably need Julie’s help in their other ongoing legal battles.

Her son, Grayson Chrisley, just got hit with a lawsuit over a distracted driving accident. They served Julie the legal papers in jail, but soon, all of that paperwork will be going to the halfway house.
