What really caused Prince Harry to fallout with David Beckham revealed in bombshell book

In Tom Bower’s explosive new biography he delves into what caused former friends Prince Harry and David Beckham to cut ties.

The story behind Prince Harry and David Beckham’s rift has been exposed in royal author Tom Bower’s latest book ‘House of Beckham’.

The former footballer has had a close relationship with many members of the Royal Family, including Prince William and Prince Harry, attending both of their weddings with his wife Victoria Beckham.

However, in 2022, Harry and Meghan Markle were absent from the nuptials of David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz.

Mr Bower claims that at the Invictus Games in Sydney back in 2018, David was left “perplexed” after he showed up to support Harry’s initiative, only for the Prince to leave him alone.

The author wrote that Harry “had ordered that under no circumstances was the footballer to be allowed near him,” and that, “Photographs of the two together were forbidden. The royal snub was brutal.”

According to Mr Bower, the “exclusion order” was made at Meghan’s request as she “did not want any competition in the media from Beckham, and especially not from his wife Victoria”.

When Meghan first married into the Royal Family, Victoria reportedly tried to help her settle in by offering her access to a little black book of contacts for hairdressers, stylists and the like in London.

But their relationship soon began to sour when Meghan reportedly accused Victoria of leaking information about them to the press, leading to an awkward conversation between their husbands.

A source explained to The Sun in 2021: “Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified.

“Inexplicably, [Meghan] feared Victoria was behind it – I mean, the idea that Victoria Beckham would be personally ringing journalists to give them a scoop is ridiculous – and spoke to Harry about it.

“Harry is very protective of Meghan, and decided to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on – but it certainly made things awkward for a while.”

A PR expert told Express.co.uk that Meghan’s spats with various celebrities could make her job more difficult when it comes to booking guests for her upcoming podcast with Lemonada Media.

Kayley Cornelius, speaking on behalf of Betfred, said: “Clique culture is highly prominent among Hollywood celebrities, where social networks and associations can significantly influence one’s career trajectory. Being part of a well-regarded group can open doors to coveted roles, high-profile collaborations, and media attention.

“Relationships in Hollywood can often extend beyond personal connections to professional alliances, where who you know can be as critical as talent and hard work in determining success.

“With this in mind, there’s no doubt that Meghan’s recent public falling outs with high-profile celebrities such as the Beckhams and George Clooney will have a knock-on effect. It may deter others from working with the Duchess due to concerns about how it could impact their own reputations.”
